We are a registered Charity.

Our Fundraising activities help raise vital funds and help us provide our services at competitive prices!

The Nursery Education Funding (NEF) we receive comes from Central Bedfordshire Council. This only covers the very basics for running Acorn Pre-School & The Mighty Oaks.  Any donations of toys, craft materials and other items to use during the sessions are gratefully received. Also if you have any fundraising ideas, don't keep them to yourself, get in touch! 

How can you help us Fundraise?

Many of our fundraising activities have been cancelled due to COVID.

You can help us raise much needed funds as you shop. Here is how:

Sign up for Amazon Smile and nominate us as your charity (Acorn Playgroup Shefford). Whenever you purchase from Amazon, shop using Amazon smile, you pay the same price, and we get a donation from Amazon. If you shop using the Amazon App, sign up for Amazon Smile using your browser, log out of the App then log back in and switch smile on in the settings.

We have created Amazon Wish Lists containing resources that will benefit children at Acorn & The Mighty Oaks. If you would like to donate a gift to the setting, please follow these links: Acorn and Mighty Oaks.

My Name Tags – Order your name tags for school clothing water bottles and lots more. Use our school code 96891 and My Name Tags make a donation to us.

We have been named Co-op Community Partner for the next 12 months. When you shop in our local store make sure you are signed up for the membership card. You will ern rewards and discounts – and so will we as you shop.

Give As You Live and Easy Fundraising – Sign up and when you shop on line, if the website subscribes you will see a symbol and any shopping you do will generate a donation to us from the company. Shops include Asda, Argos and Ebay.

You don’t even have to buy anything to help us:  just opening a free ebay account via easy fundraising, will earn money for us!.  It only works if you go via the link, so please be sure to log in using the above link next time you go surf-shopping!

Events

We hold many events throughout the year. We host Shefford Annual Duck Race, you can sponsor a race, sponsor a racing duck, hook a duck, chuck a duck, all sorts of things duck! You can also buy raffle ticket we have lots of amazing prizes and if you sponsored racing duck wins, there are cash prizes!

During the year will also attend many local fairs and fates with our stall, often with some old favourites - hook a duck (it's those ducks again!), lucky lolly pops, splat the rat and lots more.

In school we hold events such as Bunny Hops, Christmas jumper day, world book day, Christmas raffle's and Christmas cards.

Our Committee and Staff work hard to make sure there is lots of fun events, if you have any ideas or spot something else we could do, let us know.
