What we do at Mighty Oaks

Our Wrap Around Care service, Mighty Oaks, offers before and after school care.

Children attend from Acorn Pre-School, Shefford Lower School and Robert Bloomfield Academy up to the age of 12.

Breakfast Club starts from 7:30am

After School Club till 6pm

We provide a safe, relaxing, healthy, social and fun environment for children who attend. 

If your child attends Shefford Lower School we will safely escort them from our Breakfast Club and into the school building. At the end of the day we collect them from their classroom, escorting them to After School Club at 3.20pm, (for Cherry Class a collection is at 3pm).

For children attending from Robert Bloomfield Academy we ensure that they are at the school for 8.40am. At the end of the day we meet them at a central point for return to Mighty Oaks or they return directly to Mighty Oaks.

We offer fun activities for the children, they have access to our outdoor area all year round. The children can choose the activities and the resources, they also vote and request for new toys and activities. 

We have weekly activities and these have included: Photo Booth Evening, Planting Sunflowers, Science Week, Cooking Evenings and much much more. 

Staff and Management

Mighty Oaks is an associated activity of Acorn Pre-School and is also overseen by the Management Committee. On a daily basis Maureen, our Deputy Manager, is supported by a team of excellent Educators and assistants, staff work across our provision ensuring continuity for the children attending.  All our staff hold valid Paediatric First Aid qualifications.
