Currently we are recruiting a Wrap Around Care Assistant to work at our After School Club.

 

Acorn Pre‑School & The Mighty Oaks is looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our friendly Wrap Around Care Team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working with children in a supportive and community‑focused environment.

We are a charity term time only Pre-School and Wrap Around care setting, open from 7:30am to 6pm.  Wrap Around care is offered for children aged 2 to 12.

Hours: Term time only – 16 hours per week - Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 2.15pm to 6.15pm. With the possibility of additional hours.

Start: April 2026

Salary: Dependent on age, qualifications and experience.

Duties will include:

  • Setting up the After School Club environment
  • Supervising children during play and snack time
  • Supporting children with activities of their choice
  • Ensuring a safe, inclusive, and positive environment
  • Following safeguarding procedures
  • Cleaning and clearing spaces after sessions

Experience / Qualifications: 

Desirable but not essential:

  • Up to date Paediatric First Aid Certificate
  • Up to date Food Hygiene qualification
  • Up to date Food Allergy Awareness qualification
  • Up to date Safeguarding and associated training qualification
  • Up to date Manual Handling qualification
  • Experience in a childcare setting is beneficial but not essential, and full training can be provided.
